Jeff Kaller is a ceramic artist based in Dals Långed in western Sweden. Working primarily with functional ceramics, he makes objects for everyday life – cups, bowls, pitchers and vases – while exploring material, form and the histories of craft and industrial design.
His work is driven by an exploratory approach to materials and the process of transformation. He draws inspiration from folk ceramics, the long history of porcelain, and the often brutal – yet sometimes elegant – matter-of-factness of early- to mid-20th-century industrial design and architecture.
These different influences come together in objects that explore the relationship between utility, material and form. Much of his current work is made for the table and intended to become part of everyday life.
In 2023, together with fellow artist Tina Reuterberg, Jeff purchased a historic country grocery store, locally known as Kalle i Boa. The space has been transformed into both a workshop and shop, bringing the work closer to the local community.
